What Is a DOT Drug & Alcohol Consortium?
A DOT Drug & Alcohol Consortium is a managed random testing program for DOT-regulated drivers and employers.
A consortium/third-party administrator (C/TPA) can manage all or part of an employer’s DOT drug and alcohol testing program, including random testing and related administrative responsibilities.
For owner-operators and employers with only one CDL driver who is not leased to another motor carrier, participation in a consortium is required for random testing purposes.
